And ... we're back

A (re)introduction.

After a longer-than-anticipated hiatus, Read This is back in action. Phew—it's been a minute. Before we crank things back up (new links start Monday), a quick (re)introduction ...
Hey friends,

Stephen Knezovich here. As a freelancer, I help writers find creative, sustainable, and simple ways to connect with readers—without compromising their voice or values.

Curating Read This is a small part of that work. I’m also the co-founder of the literary magazine Short Reads (one flash essay, once a week, in your inbox, for free) and the hybrid publisher Ascender Book Services; I help steer the marketing at Off Assignment; and I'm a collage artist (snip snip) and the curator of Gluu (a periodic email about collage, design, and cut+paste culture).

Previously, I spent 16 years as the director of marketing for the literary nonprofit and publisher Creative Nonfiction. And before that I was a fledgling graphic designer, an occasional DJ, an inept book reviewer, an undisciplined fiction writer, the interim GM of a (now successful) restaurant, a film school dropout, the founder of a fake fraternity, a passionate (but decidedly not professional) skateboarder, and an aspiring comic book illustrator.

At my core though, I'm a hoarder collector of ideas, links, tools, scraps of useful insight—and Read This is my way of sorting through that chaos and sharing the best bits with you.

The website and archive are kind of like a digital collage made from the cruft of the internet (and my hard drive) pulled from nearly 200 different of sources.

Every weekday I share a link to something I believe could be helpful and/or inspiring for writers trying to connect with readers/patrons/fans via an email newsletter.

I’m excited to be back. We restart on Monday.

–Stephen

PS/ On May 31st, I'm leading a FREE webinar for Craft Talks that will focus on simple marketing strategies for writers who feel stuck. Did I mention it's free?
