DW Winnicott on creativity.

Stephen Knezovich
I really love these dual quotes from DW Winnicott (shared by Austin Kleon) about the internal struggle of artists:

“Artists are driven by the tension between the desire to communicate and the desire to hide [...] It is a joy to be hidden ... but a disaster not to be found.”

This is why I find email newsletters to be the perfect vessel for sharing and connecting with others about my work: It's a space that is closed off from the wider web and yet still open to anyone.

More on this in tomorrow's webinar btw.
